Welcome to this month’s Blogorail Green Loop. Today we are reviewing the quick service restaurants in Epcot’s World Showcase.
If typical British fare is your cup of tea you will want to head over to the United Kingdom Pavilion. The Yorkshire County Fish Shop is located in the heart of the UK pavilion and serves up a quick and traditional meal. You know the old saying “Do one thing and do it well?” The Yorkshire County Fish Shop has done just that.
Anglophiles need not fret as the fish shop is open for lunch and dinner. While the menu is limited you will not be disappointed. The main entree is two lightly battered strips of fish, served with chips (fries) in typical British fashion. You might even notice that the wrapper your meal is served in looks like a real newspaper. This isn’t far from what you would find in an actual fish and chip shop in Yorkshire.
This quick service spot also carries a few snacks if you need a side or dessert. The selection includes Victorian sponge cake filled with jam and buttercream. Fresh fruit is also available.
You will want to wash down your fish and chips with a Harp or Bass ale, both of which are available on draft at this quaint little spot. Both of these are also available in a souvenir stein for a few dollars more. Of course you will find fountain beverages available for the non beer drinkers.
One of our favorite spots to enjoy a meal in the United Kingdom Pavilion is just to the right of the Yorkshire County Fish Shop. This little area can get quite crowded around meal times, but it provides a great view of the World Showcase Lagoon. Time it just right and you might even get a great spot to enjoy illuminations while you enjoy some of the best food at Epcot.
Dining plans are accepted at The Yorkshire County Fish Shop.
