If you are new to the FastPass+ system you will want to check out our Beginners Guide to FastPass+. Hopefully now you are up to speed on how the FastPass+ system works and are ready to make your selections. We hope you make the most of FastPass+ with our tips and tricks. They will help you work the FastPass+ system like a pro!
Map out your trip
Even if you do no other planning prior to making your FP+ selections, at least take the time to decide what parks you will visit each day. Grab a notepad and fill in the rides/attractions you want to use FP+ on so they are handy for reference when you make the mad dash to schedule when your window opens up.
Take advantage of your window
Unless you want to be met with possible disappointment we suggest that you be parked in front of your computer (and possibly have your app open as well) promptly at 7am eastern time on the first day you are eligible to make your selections. As ridiculous as it sounds, some of the more popular attractions will have no more FastPass+ available by the time you sit down to book them later that night.
Go for the big rides first
For example, you want Frozen Ever After, the Seven Dwarves Mine Train and Toy Story Midway Mania. Three different days at three different parks. Don’t waste precious time selecting your other two passes for those days. Make sure to grab the most important one then move to the next day. You can fill in the blanks later.
Edit and then edit again
Once you’ve grabbed the three passes you want for the day using the computer generated suggested times you can tweak them even further. Using the My Disney Experience app is the easier way to go. Click on the FastPass+ you want to modify and adjust the time as needed.
Keep on swimming
Didn’t get that FastPass+ you wanted for Soarin’? Never fear, other guests will be modifying their plans and possibly dropping that pass you wanted. Just make sure to check back daily. There is a good chance you’ll be able to pick up a hard to get attraction.
Work that park hopper
We often park hop, especially during the holidays so we can check out all the decor. A great way to make sure you have FastPass+ for your second park is this: book FP+ at your first park of the day for a character meet or something else you aren’t really set on doing. Try to make it for as early as possible. Let it expire (sometimes we are still in bed when this happens). Once you have used your other two fast passes for whichever rides you prefer you can head to your next park. You should be able to grab a pass for your second park of the day as soon as your last pass expires! We often do this while in transit to the next park on the My Disney Experience App.
