Delivery service is a great way to save time and money during your Walt Disney World vacation. As delicious as park snacks are, the price can add up quickly. One of our favorite ways to save at Disney is having snacks for our room or take with us into the parks. Using a grocery delivery service has proven to be the easiest way for us to do that. A delivery service is particularly handy if you are flying to Orlando and do not plan to rent a car.

Looking into grocery delivery at Walt Disney World Resort? Check out a few of our favorite options to save yourself some cash.

Garden Grocer

There are several different options for delivery to the Walt Disney World resort hotels. Our current favorite is Garden Grocer. They offer a wide selection of food, drinks, baby care and household products. You will even find a selection of adult beverages. It’s very simple to fill your cart as you can shop online or through the IOS app on your phone.

Garden Grocer allows you to choose a delivery window that works for you. Your order will be delivered to the front desk of your resort. Your resort is happy to store your order until you are ready. They will even keep the cold things in the fridge for you. We find that having your order arrive about an hour before you do works well as you can arrange delivery while you settle into your new digs. Just call the front desk  when you are ready for your groceries and guest services will deliver them right to your room!

If you are the kind that likes to plan ahead you will be rewarded with a bit of a discount.

Instacart

Another option now available is delivery from Publix Supermarket with the addition of the Instacart website or app. Instacart also allows you to make purchases from Whole Foods, Costco, and ABC Liquors. You can arrange to have items delivered directly to your room upon arrival or ask to have them taken to the front desk of your resort. Just be sure to leave any special instructions upon ordering.

By using Instacart you can get specialty items and snacks that you would usually buy at home. Like Garden Grocer you can select the date and time you would like your items delivered. It also doesn’t require a lot of planning in advance as you can get deliveries in as little as two hours. If you do decide to give Instacart a whirl you can get $10 off your first order by using our special link.

Amazon Prime

If you are already an Amazon Prime member you have probably used Amazon Prime Pantry to have everyday essentials delivered to your home or office. Did you know that you can have Amazon deliver to your Walt Disney World Resort as well? Amazon also offers the Amazon Now that includes a free 2 hour deliver service in the Orlando area. However, this service is exclusive to Amazon Prime members. If you aren’t an Amazon Prime member you can get a  Amazon Prime 30-Day Free Trial to use during your stay.

Where To Store Your Goods

Most all of the resort rooms on Disney property feature a dorm sized fridge. This allows you to cold store your groceries once in your room. Not all rooms provide a microwave but you’ll find several available at the food court. If we are driving to the resort from home we like to bring along a small ice chest to keep our beer and soda in. This saves the room in the fridge for things like lunch meat, milk or produce.

Here are some of our favorite ideas for in the room or in the park snacks!

Breakfast

Milk and cereal, fresh fruit and fully cooked bacon (bacon is good even cold!) are easy meals to snack on while everyone is getting ready for the day. Want to save time and get to the parks ASAP? Hand everyone a bagel and a banana and head out.

Lunch/Snacks

We like to pack granola, nuts and dried fruit, beef jerky and dried chickpeas in our daypacks for a quick go-to snack. If you don’t want to carry your food all day, locker rental is available. You’ll find lockers at all four theme parks as well as the two water parks. This allows you to carry your entire cooler of snacks, drinks, extra water and more.

While we here at Running on Disney never miss a chance to grab a churro, we find having a selection of food and drinks in our resort room really does save us a few bucks in the long run.  Have you ever used a grocery delivery service? Sound off in the comments below!
